Learn how to ride an electric foilboard on the beautiful tropical island of Maui!
Our best deal, if you have a large family or group. To make this work we usually rotate riders; 2 will stay on the beach and watch and the others will rotate through with them every 10 minutes or so. This works out fine; out of a group of 7 there will always be a couple ready and willing to take beach breaks for 10 or 15 minutes to catch their breath. We have have extra battery packs for the boards and we’re not afraid to use them; every single rider will get at least 90 minutes out on the water after the training on the beach.

Prepare to Efoil
All sessions start with a fun and thorough pre-flight ground school safety briefing on the beach. We will introduce you to our efoil boards and we?ll teach you everything you need to know to successfully ride an efoil.
Prepare Yourself Physically
Your efoil lesson will be an exhilarating and super fun workout and will require energy and stamina, so plan accordingly: Get plenty of sleep the night before, arrive hydrated, and eat enough breakfast to keep you going for a couple of hours.
Some riders get minor abrasions on their elbows from rubbing on the board deck too much. It?s not common enough that you need to really worry about it, but if you know your elbows might be likely to get a little angry, wear a long sleeve rash guard. Knee abrasions can happen, especially for older folks. If you know or think you have sensitive or thin skin on your knees then wear some neoprene or leggings or tights and acknowledge you?ll have more incentive to stand up on the board more than kneel on it.
If you like to do stretches or something before strenuous activity, then by all means do some stretches or something before.
Prepare Yourself Mentally
Learning how to ride an efoil is easier than people think! Even new beginners who have no comparable experience can do really spectacularly well. Having said that, we of course can?t guarantee your level of success but will guarantee you will have a lot of fun. The vast majority of our new riders are able to get up on foil faster than they thought possible. You will have an instructor riding alongside next you, coaching you along to dial in your perfect technique.
Some riders have enough fun riding on their knees, or standing up riding the board just on the surface, like a powered surfboard that can go in any direction. We will not pressure you beyond your comfort zone. Some helpful tips: Speed equals stability. Although efoils can get up to 25 mph, your top speed will be limited to around 15 mph. If you study some of the videos here, look closely at how the riders have positioned themselves on the efoil board. Look at their stance, their posture, and their foot placement. If you can look like that on the efoil, you will be super successful and the people walking by on the beach will all stop and stare at you flying by and their mouths and eyes will be wide open in amazement and wonder, seeing you levitate over the water with grace and ease!
FYI: This is Not a Guaranteed Injury-free Activity
Although you could finish your session with a small bruise or a scrape, the likelihood is statistically low; we have taught hundreds of new riders who successfully made it back to shore with the only thing hurting being their face from laughing so much.
